⭐ 1-Star Review – Poor Service & No Accountability Went in for an oil change on my Dodge Caravan. They replaced the passenger-side headlight bulb, which burnt out within 2 days. When I returned 2 months later, they denied ever changing that side, claimed it was the driver side, and tried to give me a blue bulb that wasn’t even right for my vehicle. I checked the bulb myself before going in — I know my car. They still charged me $20–25 for a bulb that costs $10–$12 retail, and tried to gaslight me about which side was out. This place used to be better, but now under new owners, there’s zero transparency. Not trusting them again.
Alert – Avoid Car R Us Inc. I had a very poor experience here. I went in to get my car’s brakes and discs replaced, and not only did it take an unacceptable 8–9 hours (despite arriving early in the morning), but the work was also done very poorly. Since then, I’ve been experiencing ongoing brake issues, including an irritating noise they claimed would "go away after driving a few kilometers"—it never did. I went back twice and still no proper fix. The staff seemed unprofessional and disorganized, with little regard for time or customer satisfaction. I strongly advise others to stay away from this shop—it’s not worth your time, money, or safety.
I purchased a vehicle from Value Cars, and they arranged the safety inspection through their partnered garage. As part of the safety, the garage replaced the brake pads and rotors. However, from day one, I noticed a noise whenever I applied the brakes. I contacted the garage several times through the dealer, but there was no proper resolution. Eventually, they asked me to bring the car in for inspection. When I visited, they told me the noise was “normal” and sent me away without fixing the issue. The problem persisted, so I contacted the dealer (Value Cars) again. Despite calling and messaging multiple times, they ignored me. When they finally responded, they told me to bring the car again. I arrived at their shop at 10:30 AM (their opening time) and waited until 2:00 PM, but they never took my car in. Even though I had been waiting for hours, they took in other customers who came after me. When I questioned them, their response was dismissive and completely unprofessional. Out of frustration, I left and took my car to another qualified mechanic. They found that the caliper pin for the front brake was not properly secured and was dangerously hanging by a loose wire instead of being bolted correctly. This was extremely unsafe and could have put my life and others at serious risk. The garage that did my safety clearly cut corners to save money, and their work was completely unacceptable. I have photos of the issue and I am planning to file a formal complaint with the Ministry because this is not just bad service – this is dangerous. Please avoid this garage at all costs. The staff and mechanics are inexperienced, unskilled, and highly unprofessional. They not only waste your time and money but also put your safety at risk. I genuinely urge others to stay away from this place and find a garage that actually knows how to do the job properly.
Beware: Dishonest and Unprofessional Service I had a very disappointing experience at Car R Us. I was in a time crunch and urgently needed a brake pad replacement. While most garages had no availability, Car R Us agreed to take my car in right away. That’s where the problems began. They quoted me $650 just to replace two brake pads—which seemed extremely high. I stepped outside to call around and quickly learned that other reputable shops were charging around $200 for the same job. While I was on the phone, I discovered that they had taken my car key without informing me, moved my vehicle behind the shop, and started disassembling it without my consent. They even removed the tire. When I confronted them and asked them to stop, the staff were incredibly rude, laughed at me, and completely ignored my request. I warned them I’d call the police, but they didn't seem to care. Only after I called my car dealer for help did things begin to de-escalate. My dealer spoke with them, and only then did they lower the price to $370, which is still overpriced. This place is the definition of unethical and unprofessional. They tried to take advantage of my urgent situation and showed zero respect for me or my vehicle. I will never return here and recommend others look elsewhere for honest service.
Unprofessional staff, overcharging every single thing u buy from them worst place in my experience used to be s good place until Darren was here these new folks have no idea what they doing and that uncle on reception is just a disaster
Absolutely TERRIBLE since Darren left. Do yourself a favour and do not go here if you care about your car, your wallet, and your time. Long time customer, will not be coming here again.
