What a gem of a place! Toshi Japanese makes great sushi rolls and other hot dishes such as teriyaki chicken. High quality food that is freshly made and at reasonable prices. Have mostly ordered takeout from here & looking forward to one day eating in here so that I can add to my excellent review.
I have been ordering from Toshi for a while now. Whenever I feel like eating Japanese. I try to familiarize myself with different menu items because I know the quality will be very good. I ordered maki rolls tonight that were excellent. Dragon roll and Spicy Salmon roll.The rice was perfectly cooked and the rolls melted like butter. Absolutely perfect.
I was there for the opening of this restaurant, with its original owner. This place served the best sushi Ive ever tasted. However, since its been under new ownership, the quality of the service and the food has gone down the drain. Good example is they charge you a higher price than whats on the menu. Then the waitress tells you the prices went up two weeks ago. Question, if it went up two weeks ago should it not be shown on the menu? My experience with dining at Toshis in the past is, you order your food, and get served green tea. The server would come and refill your cup as is needed. With the new owners you have to ask for them to refill your tea. Good luck Toshi-youve just lost a customer that has supported you since you opened your doors.
My FAVOURITE sushi place! The best sushi! Large slices of sashimi and it's all fresh. Love the decor and the staff are all wonderful!
This is my second visit to this authentic sushi house. The customer service is top notch; very polite and welcoming. Random table checks are not intrusive . For this random day, I chose the Unagi don. I've heard from friends that this is the spot for a hearty size of Unagi. The dish came with a salad and miso soup, both were great. I also ordered a sushi appetizer platter, which had tuna, salmon, shrimp, mackerel and veg sushi. Overall I enjoyed my dinner here, and would definitely return and recommend.
