Great little shop doing big shoe repairs. I was lucky to get size adjustment on 1 shoe while I wait with 20 minutes. Needed comfort on that shoe for a dinner dance days later, and the Cobbler was very understanding and accommodating. He also fixes or replaced coat zippers for a reasonable price.
I am not one to make reviews but I am so upset over the quality of work I received from this shop. When I brought in my 3 shoes I knew they were difficult jobs to get right so I made sure to ask if they were sure they could repair these shoes. Of course, they said “yes”. $200 later, what seemed like playdough was put on the heel to “fix it”, the strap on my other shoe was “repaired” and snapped off after one hour, and finally my favourite vintage Repetto flats were ruined. I asked for the sole to be repaired and it was slowly coming off - if I had known what they were going to do I would’ve brought them somewhere else immediately. When I received them back, a cheap plastic sole was placed on the bottom with peeling paint surrounding it. The satin on the back heel was covered it what seemed like hardened acrylic paint. I am a fashion student and just wish I sewed them up but thought I was giving the shoes to a professional to repair. After the first wear the sole came off. After bringing the shoes back, the owner attempted to fix them which I greatly appreciate. But the mess had already been done and all of my shoes were permanently ruined. I continue to bring them to other shoe repair stores and most of them say the job that was done on them have them practically unrepairable. I’m still on the hunt for someone else to fix them but this shop wouldn’t even consider giving me a refund despite all 3 shoes being worn once and falling apart again. Even with the cheap looking job, I atleast hoped the shoes would be wearable. The shop owner repeated “This is up to standard, it’s all I can do”, as the repair he has done was broken in his hand. I’m writing this review not to say this shop is horrible but only to hope in the future they can decline a job they CAN’T do. As all I wish is that they turned me away and I could’ve found someone else - but now I have no refund and shoes that are even more destroyed than when I brought them in.
Too expensive, not, I took my Sketchers sneakers and safety shoes over there for cleaning, and the men told me that I would charge 35 dollars for Sketchers and 50 dollars for safety shoes cleaning. I wasted 20 dollars on Uber to go there
I've been coming for years and the work has been satisfactory. Recently I brought in three items. When I got home I found a 4 th one. I brought it in. I prepaid. I picked it up without looking at it; I trusted him. When I went to put the shoe on, I saw he didn't glue the sole, so I brought it back. He refused to even acknowledge he might have made a mistake and charged me again. I suspect that because he seen the right shoe a few days earlier, he thought he might have already fixed it. So, I paid him again I have mobility issues, and going elsewhere would have required a lot of effort. I paid again. I picked it up... there was glue on the bottom of the sole...coincidentally, where he had glued it. Not only did he refuse to clean it; he told me somehow I had melted the sole. I have never ripped off or taken advantage of anyone. He was arrogant, insulting, and unapologetic. I struggle with a lot of pain. I don't go out of my way to make more work for myself or others. I do believe that if you pay someone to do workthat they agree to do, it should be done well. I believe that you don't lie to customers. I will never return.
My son needed his work boots repaired but couldn't work without them. Not only did this shop owner complete the repair same day but he was affordable, honest and such a nice man! The boot repair/reinforcement was 10/10 and I would encourage anyone needing repairs to pop in here first before going anywhere else! He also has skates for sale/rent plus sharpening, repairs zippers, purses, hems clothes etc. Thank you again for your fantastic customer service!! We will definitely be back!
They go home during business hours. The sign on the door said open Monday to Friday until 7:30pm. I called ahead and drove 35 minutes straight from work to make it before closing just for a quick drop off. I arrived at around 7:20, and the door was locked and lights off. Wasted my time and gas.
First time at the Shoe Clinic today, and John did a superb job with my shoes. He was friendly and efficient, and highly professional - he made some great suggestions on how to improve my footwear. I will be returning with my other shoes.
