This is a warning for those of you with precious items, DO NOT GO HERE. I went here as I was referred from a jeweler to get a battery replacement for a watch that my grand father left me as I was told they would have the right tools to open the back. The person behind the counter proceeded to take what looked like a nail file and a hammer, hammered this file into the back of the watch as if she was bashing those nails into a railroad track and made a huge gash and dented it. She then blamed the "previous person who worked on it" and said that person made the dent and I was trying to use it, uh no, you did it and tried to get away with it. Sadly I didn't have a video or picture beforehand to prove what she did. But I feel even if I did they would have done nothing to actually solve the problem, not like they would replace a 50 year old watch. Very saddened they destroyed this watch, I wanted to wear it to remember my grand father at my cousins wedding and now I will never wear it or get it fixed as I am scared of this happening again. Thank you Watch World for ruining my watch.
Would not recommend this place, If you wanna pay and get disrespected then this is the place for you. Zero customer service. I went there today to get battery replaced in my watch, and I couldn’t stand the attitude of the associate. When I confronted, she didn’t even apologize. I took my watch and got that fixed from another location in the same mall and even at less price than this place.
Incompetent weekend staff. Proceeded to dismantle my watch only to realize they were not knowledgeable/able to service that brand. Could not put the watch back together and turns out maybe damaged the mechanism. I would not recommend going here for your battery replacement needs. Horrible experience.
I have dealt with these wonderful people since 1998 Always been professional and courteous from the owner Paul Costa, to his son Brian Always looks after my watch needs. Would never go anywhere else.
Brought in a watch to have the batteries replaced. The woman working struggled to open the back of it and after fighting with it for about a couple minutes, finally says she doesn't know how to open it and to come back in an hour. We return and she says they managed to open the watch and they changed the batteries but says that the watch doesn't work. (It worked perfectly fine before the batteries died) Her response was "Well, I won't charge you but you got free batteries out of it" What's the point in the watch if it doesn't work?! VERY upset with the service that was provided. Thankfully we were able to fix it at home *No one at home is a watchmaker, so for someone at the store not to be able to figure out the problem and fix it is a concern....
I took them a brand new watch to be sized and they were extremely rough in handling it; they left numerous scratches all over the bracelet. From reading their reviews, this seems to be a consistent issue with them. The protective plastic coverings had just been removed from the watch prior to visiting their shop, and the watch was inspected by me beforehand - there were no blemishes whatsoever, so the scratches were definitely left by them. This is extremely irritating but ultimately also unfortunate because they were friendly and the prices were reasonable. I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone due to the lack of care with which they handle customer watches.
** UPDATED, August 1/18 ** This Watch World is absolutely the WORST COMPANY I have EVER dealt with. Finally got our clock repaired by the BEST COMPANY I have EVER dealt with (The Empire Group, Toronto) -- who confirmed the clock was just in need of some TLC and a good cleaning. Done! Works perfectly now. AND they confirmed that whoever looked at the clock previously did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to it. Not even a cleaning. So folks, BEWARE OF WATCH WORLD. They will take your money and provide you with nothing but a run-around, some double-talk and plenty of aggravation. SHAME ON YOU WATCH WORLD! (original post below) Have assigned one star ONLY because it was impossible to assign ZERO STARS. I cannot say enough about the ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE lack of customer service and accountability at this shop! We dropped off our antique wall clock MONTHS ago for repair. We have followed up on numerous occasions, only to be told "next week". Will NEVER take another item in here for any reason, and will take every opportunity I can to tell others of this experience.
