Very disappointed in medix college for the way they treated me and handled the situation especially since they know I am a person with a diagnose condition. Instead of making the teacher (Catherine ortiz) accountable for her actions they kicked me out of the program, for standing up for myself and getting mad at them. she is not fit to teach don't waste your time going to this school.
I ENROLLED IN THE MEDICAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM AT MEDIX COLLEGE IN BRAMPTON, I WAS SO EXCITED BUT 2 WEEKS INTO THE PROGRAM ONLINE MY TEACHER CATHERINE ORTIZ MADE ME FEEL UNIMPORTANT AND SMALL SHE SINGLED ME OUT AND SHAMED ME IN THE ZOOM CLASS ROOM, VERY DISRESPECTFUL TREATMENT TOWARDS A YOUNG PERSON TRYING TO BETTER THEMSELVES. SHE MUTED ME FROM SPEAKING TO HER ONLINE AND BLOCKED ME FROM AN EXAM, AFTER I CALLED THE COLLEGE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW SHE TREATED ME BUT THE CAMPUS MANAGER CHRISTINA SINGH DID NOTHING TO HELP ME, BUT KICKED ME OUT OF THE PROGRAM. PLEASE DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL THE STAFF IS RUDE AND NOT SUPPORTIVE AND IT'S A VERY NAGATIVE ENVIRONMENT.
I strongly believe that completing my PSW program at Medix College was one of the best decisions I have made. The staff and teachers were extremely helpful, understanding, and kind. My instructor, Jotie Gill, taught me clearly and made sure I understood all the material, and my clinical instructor, Gayani, provided excellent guidance and support during my placement. I am also very thankful to Kulwinder Atwal, Career Services Specialist at the Brampton Campus, for helping me with career support and guiding me through the externship process. Because of the knowledge, encouragement, and assistance I received from the entire Medix team, I felt confident going into my externship and my placement went very smoothly. Overall, my experience at Medix College was amazing, and I am truly grateful for everything.
My recent interaction with Sandy, a senior admission officer at Medix College (Brampton), was extremely disappointing. She displayed a lack of professionalism and courtesy throughout the conversation. When I tried to enquire about the requirements for a program, she showed no patience to listen to my full question and instead kept repeating an unhelpful and invalid response. Her unwillingness to address queries properly and her dismissive tone are not what one would expect from someone representing an educational institution. The interaction came across as rude and unprofessional, raising serious concerns about the college’s standards for staff conduct. Unfortunately, this experience has been a red flag for me regarding the institution’s approach to prospective students.
My experience with Medix college has been a very fun and meaningful one. From the amazing staff at the college grounds to the externship site that I was placed at, I couldn’t be happier knowing that the me of 9-ish months ago made the decision to actually move forward with a career here.
I finished my dental assistant course in may 2024. I can confidently say it was a smooth process and transition into the real world. I’m grateful for the instructors I had specifically Tina and Rosemarie. They were always willing to help me understand and were extremely patient with everyone which I appreciated deeply. I don’t think the experience would’ve been the same had these two not be my instructors. The ladies at the front were also a pleasure as well along with Linda from career services. I would recommend this school to anyone interested in dental assisting. No regrets.
