I didn't even know there WERE Game Shacks outside of downtown Toronto. While the focus HAS shifted a bit from used games to more TCG card games and board games, this does shake things up enough to make it worth the visit if you've already checked out Gamestop / EB Games.
We took legit 50 mins to decide one game, AJ helped us a lot, took her time to explain the game to me I offered three game options, and she chose one, just got up after playing it with my friends, lovely game, (one night ultimate werewolf)

I received excellent customer service from Ali and Jasmine. They're incredibly knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for. I'll definitely be coming back next time - highly reccommend this place!
A friend and I stopped by to ask some questions regarding a game. The worker, Jasmine, went above and beyond! They helped find the game my friend was looking for and taught us a few facts on pokemon cards and games. Excellent service all around!
Make sure to check for damage to the product before purchasing... I bought a board game from Game Shack, and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until I took it home. I ripped off the plastic seal and before opening the box, I noticed pretty significant damage to the corner of the box... I checked the Game Shack policies for returns and exchanges on their website and it states that all items must be unopened. I figured I'd try to give this location a call and see if maybe it wasn't a strict policy. I explained the situation and they said "Yeah sure you can come in to exchange it no problem". Great -- I guess they can bend their policy a little bit for the customer. I drive in very snowy conditions to get there and I explain to the cashier that I called earlier and she checks with her manager, who I believe I was on the phone with. She tells me they can't actually offer me an exchange or anything. She misunderstood and thought there was damage to components WITHIN the box, not damage to the box itself... It was busy in the store, and I didn't want to make a scene so I just left. But I am willing to leave a very disappointed review and warning. Game Shack used to be my go-to store for board games, but it's difficult to want to come back to a store that inconveniences its customers, sells defective products, and blames the customer for not inspecting the product for damage (isn't that YOUR job?). What a shame.
I went in with my kids and they were holding the yogurt pouch from happy meals. They're durable and they were squeezing it, they were holding it ans just flopping it around but unopened and they've done this with me before. The guy that worked there gave a warning to my kids. I don't appreciate anyone telling my kids anything they can ask me but don't talk to my kids and warn them unless you're their parent. I didn't appreciate that at all and really think the person should be spoken to regarding that. It was a Monday August 14 at 1155am and at bramalea mall location. I should have walked out but my son wanted something and still not happy with the customer service. Just because they're kids doesn't mean they're destructive or messy. Have patience and trust that parents know their kids limits well I did at least.
