I had an excellent experience with this heating and cooling company from start to finish. Booking the appointment was simple, the team arrived on schedule, and they explained everything clearly. The technician was knowledgeable, respectful, and worked efficiently. My furnace is running better than ever, and the pricing was very fair with no surprises. I will definitely be using them again and recommending them to family and friends.
I'm usually very generous with my Google Reviews, so if you're reading this and wondering why a guy with a 4.9 rating average is getting a 1-star review, pay close attention to what I'm sharing below. I contacted OM Heating & Cooling after seeing the many positive reviews. My AC had stopped blowing cold air in the middle of a heat wave and I needed a solution. When I called OM, the technician answered on the first ring, provided me with a time estimate, and was at my house within a few hours. I was impressed and already prepared to throw this guy a 5-star review. We were both outside while he connected his gauges to the AC unit and he showed me that my Freon levels were low and indicated that this was due to a leak and my evaporator coil needs replacing. Mind you, he did not do an isolated leak check to know exactly where the leak was, he just provided that assessment and I took him for his word. Unfortunately for me, as someone who is not an HVAC professional, I was not aware of what a full and detailed assessment was supposed to entail. I asked him what he felt the next steps were and he advised that I contact the coil manufacturer to see if my warranty was still in effect. I asked if he would be available to come back to complete the work and he said yes (this was a lie). I paid him his fee for his 10 minute 'assessment' and he was on his way. For the past week, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get back in contact with this guy. He will not answer calls, he will not respond to my voicemail, and he will not reply to my text messages. I'm confused because as far as I can tell, we had a pleasant exchange. I can't imagine what I said or did to cause him to ghost me like this. I wanted to avoid contacting a new technician because assessment fees aren't cheap and I thought it best to continue with the guy I started with for continuity. I decided to cut my losses and move on to a new technician because it's still 29C in my house! When the new technician arrived, he did a proper assessment including an isolation test, and concluded that there was actually nothing wrong with my evaporator coil and that the problem was actually with my condenser. So OM Heating & Cooling misdiagnosed the problem (which led me to having a completely unnecessary conversation with the coil manufacturer about warranties) on top of ghosting me after receiving his assessment fee. As another reviewer mentioned, he's all for the quick money but an overall lazy guy at the end of the day. It only takes 5 seconds to reply to a text saying "Sorry, I don't know how to fix your problem" or "Look man, I don't like the way you look so I can't work with you". In conclusion, my reasons for giving this company/technician 1-star are due to me finding him to be unprofessional, dishonest and lacking in competency for this trade. I don't doubt that the many other reviewers had 5-star experiences, but take caution in case your AC problem places you in the special category that I'm in which will leave you stranded and wasting time and money.
I called him by reading good reviews. He was wrong on diagnosing the problem. He changed the capacitor even though it wasn’t faulty. I paid him what he asked $220. He took the money, the problem persisted. When I communicated him soon after that the same issue has not been resolved at all he stopped responding. I tried contacting him though phone calls, text, WhatsApp, left voicemail message. He didn’t care to respond. He is for quick money only. I felt cheated by him. Now I am fulfilling my obligation to state the truth so people can be Beware of him! Thanks.
Mr. Mehta responded to my call within an hour and was extremely professional and helpful. The problem was diagnosed and fixed with in 15 minutes. I highly recommend OM Heating!
